Zoomatrix is continually improving. Here is what has changed in each update.
v2.1.0July 2026
Even more freedom in post-zoom fine-tuning, plus more accurate easing.
NewReal-time zoom amount adjustment: In the fine-adjustment panel that appears after applying a zoom, you can now drag to adjust the zoom amount in real time, not just the position. Adjust it precisely while watching the exact value.
NewCurrent time display: The main panel now shows the current playback time at all times, updating live as you scrub the timeline.
NewLock layer selection: When you want to keep the layer you're duplicating from fixed, you can now lock the target layer with a checkbox.
ImprovedAdded "Ease In" and "Ease Out" easing: In addition to the existing "Linear" and "Ease In-Out," you can now choose "Ease In" and "Ease Out," which apply easing to only one side. This enables effects such as "start slow and land firmly" or "start fast and settle gently."
ImprovedThe composition field is now a simple label instead of a dropdown, tidying up the overall panel layout.
FixedFixed an issue where, when using Start already zoomed in together with zoom-out and a non-center grid point (e.g. bottom-left) was selected, the frame would not return exactly to its original position after zooming out — leaving a slight offset toward the selected point.
v2.0.1June 2026
Fixed[Mac] Fixed an issue where a license key would fail to activate if it contained full-width characters or stray spaces/symbols.
v2.0.0Major UpdateMay 2026
A major update that overhauls post-zoom position adjustment.
NewRevamped position fine-adjustment panel: Right after applying a zoom, drag the anchor point position while previewing the result.
NewStart already zoomed in: Begin already at the zoomed-in scale, then return to the normal size at a time you specify.
ImprovedThe UI now automatically scales to match screen DPI and resolution, giving a consistent look across environments.
ImprovedAdded support for switching the display language between Japanese and English.
v1.8.0April 2026
A stability release ahead of the major update.
FixedImproved integration with the Point Control effect so the selected position is reflected on the anchor point more accurately.
FixedFixed a display glitch where the selection outline on buttons and checkboxes did not render correctly.
FixedFixed an error that could occur during layer selection in certain environments.
ImprovedStabilized keyframe easing processing, improving compatibility across different After Effects versions.
ImprovedMade the window width more compact and refined the alignment of each element.
ImprovedSettings are now stored in JSON format, so zoom amount, duration, easing, and cut settings are all saved together.
ImprovedRevised the license file format for more robust management, and unified the button styling in the License Management dialog.
v1.7.0March 2026
Fine-tune the position right after zooming.
NewAutomatic fine-adjustment dialog: After applying a zoom, a position fine-adjustment dialog now opens automatically. Adjust the position with the grid and slider until it's just right, while keeping the scale and anchor point animation intact.
NewAdded a "Reset to Original Position" button to return the position to its original spot with a single click.
FixedFixed an issue where clicking "Apply" in the fine-adjustment dialog could cause it to reappear a second time.
v1.6.0February 2026
More freedom to adjust timing.
NewTime fine-adjustment panel: After applying a zoom, fine-tune the start and end timing while previewing the result.
ImprovedThe delay before zooming back out can now be set freely.
ImprovedAdobe After Effects 2026 compatibility.
v1.5.0December 2025
Added zoom-out, easing, and layer cutting.
NewZoom-out option: After zooming in, automatically return to the original size.
NewAdded a choice of easing (Linear / Ease In-Out).
NewAutomatic layer cutting: Choose from three modes — "at keyframe start and end," "before the start keyframe," or "after the end keyframe" — to automatically trim the layer's visible range to match the zoom segment.
ImprovedRemoved the unused collapse feature, simplifying the UI for greater stability.
v1.4.0October 2025
NewCustomizable grid size: Added support for grid sizes other than the standard 5×5, allowing finer position control.
FixedFixed an issue where the anchor point grid could be displayed in the wrong position for compositions with an unusual aspect ratio.
FixedFixed an issue where the zoom effect was not applied correctly depending on the composition's resolution (now works accurately at any size, from 600×600 to 1920×1920 and beyond).
ImprovedRewrote the aspect ratio warning message in plain language instead of technical numeric values.
v1.3.0August 2025
Now you can keep your original layer intact while working.
NewDuplicate layer option: Apply the zoom to a duplicated layer while leaving the original untouched. The duplicated layer is automatically moved to the top.
ImprovedThe "Keep original layer" option is now enabled by default.
ImprovedAdded an option to automatically mute audio on the duplicated layer, if it has any.
ImprovedThe duplicated layer's name now automatically includes the zoom time range (in "00:00–00:00" format), making it easy to identify in the Timeline.
v1.2.0June 2025
ImprovedThe panel no longer closes after running the script, so you can keep adjusting and applying zoom settings without interruption.
ImprovedImproved the stability of the grid display when switching compositions.
ImprovedMade it smoother to switch between multiple compositions in a project.
ImprovedImproved the responsiveness of the Refresh button.
v1.1.0April 2025
FixedFixed a critical issue where the zoom always centered on the middle of the frame regardless of which grid cell was selected. Selecting the top-left now zooms from the top-left, selecting the bottom-right zooms from the bottom-right, and so on.
FixedFixed an issue where multiple selection marks could appear on the grid at once.
FixedFixed an issue where the grid buttons could be displayed in the wrong position at certain screen resolutions.
